Quality education is at the core of any thriving community and LIPOA is no exception. With two renowned public charter schools already established within LIPOA, families benefit from several options.
Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA) is a tuition-free, WASC-accredited, public charter school for grades K-12. HTA uses a flexible blended learning model, providing students with a combination of face-to-face instruction, virtual instruction, and experiential/independent learning.
Kihei Charter School is a K-12 public charter school, WASC-accredited, with pioneering curriculum and game-changing technology. Curriculum encompasses a unique blend of research and development in new technologies, the arts, the humanities, and the sciences.
Next to LIPOA, the long-awaited public Kihei High School is currently under construction and will serve the growing population of South Maui in state-of-the-art facilities. It is being built in phases with completion anticipated in 2024. In addition, Kihei Elementary, Kamalii Elementary, and Lokelani Intermediate offer choices within minutes of Lipoa.
Ancillary educational classrooms, learning satellites and continuing education classes are also part of the instructional fabric at LIPOA.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Maui Brewing Company serves as an anchor for food and beverage at LIPOA. Their headquarters and brewing facility are a hub of activity with brewery-to-table dining, tasting room, beer garden and game area.
Gilligan’s Bar & Grill at the Maui Nui Golf Club at the entry to the community is a casual restaurant offering lunch, dinner and happy hour and entertainment throughout the week; a convenient spot for “pau hana” for professionals heading home after work at LIPOA.
Plans for expanded food and beverage outlets are currently underway.
Celebrated at Lipoa is the preservation of open space and leisure options.
Sidewalks thread throughout the community, over two miles of walking trails, bikeable paths and greenspace parkway provide a plethora of ways for residents, workers, and visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings.
Maui Nui Golf Club located at the entry of LIPOA, is home to Maui’s fun only golf course in Kihei.
Coming activity partners include a Pickleball facility and more fitness options.
Shopping facilities will be centrally located at the town center and provide town greens perfect for gathering and taking advantage of Maui’s four seasons of sunshine and warm weather.
Quickly becoming a hub for medical facilities on Maui, LIPOA is already home to general physicians, specialists, eye care, pediatrics and a handful of other medical professions within its existing office core. LIPOA has 14 Health Care providers in addition to a significant Memory Care facility now under renovation.
