LĪPOA Connects with Global Space Community at AMOS 2025

Lipoa Maui AMOS 2025

In September, LĪPOA once again joined more than 1,200 scientists, data analysts, and space situational awareness experts for the 2025 Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies (AMOS) Conference. Drawing crowds from across the U.S. and 27 countries right into our backyard at the Marriott’s Wailea Beach Resort, the 26th annual conference’s timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

LĪPOA has emerged as a vital center for space technology and research, home to pioneering companies like KBR, EO Solutions, Leolabs, and Privateer, where cutting-edge space domain awareness research takes place. And the Space Situational/Domain Awareness presence within LĪPOA is only about to grow more: Construction is currently underway for the Secure Integration Support Lab (SISL) situated on 10 acres within LĪPOA that will expand the U.S. Space Forceʻs 15th Space Surveillance Squadron’s capabilities in groundbreaking research and development.

Besides sharing the latest on that project with attendees and LĪPOA’s future plans to develop homes and apartments within the live-work community, we joined policy forums, technical sessions, and invaluable networking gatherings to broaden LĪPOA’s position as a key location in Hawai‘i’s growing space economy. Our exhibit booth became a talk story hub — where we shared with attendees how our vision of making LĪPOA the place for space isn’t just a dream, it’s already taking flight.
