KBR Hosts Record-Breaking Pau Hana

With the generous hospitality of KBR, LĪPOA hosted its largest Pau Hana to date, drawing more than 80 attendees for an afternoon filled with refreshments, networking, community updates, and lively conversations.

Ryan Churchill opened the event by welcoming LĪPOA’s neighbors and sharing an exciting update on LĪPOA’s first residential neighborhoods now underway. He highlighted the construction of essential infrastructure that will pave the way for future growth at LĪPOA. Ryan then introduced Lisa Thompson of KBR, who warmly greeted guests as the evening’s host and graciously invited all to enjoy the gathering. Lisa was joined by several members of the KBR team, who shared insights into their new role as prime contractor for the Advanced Space Technology Research and Optimization (ASTRO) contract.

Lisa next had the honor of introducing the afternoon’s special guest, Congresswoman Jill Tokuda, who delivered thoughtful remarks and engaged directly with attendees in a lively Q&A. She emphasized the importance of Maui’s growing innovation ecosystem — reflected in the diverse capabilities present at LĪPOA — and spoke to the role the community plays in creating future career opportunities for residents, especially youth.

With record-breaking attendance, this Pau Hana highlighted both the diversity and energy within the LĪPOA community. Guests enjoyed informal connections with colleagues and neighbors against the inviting backdrop of Maui Brewing Company.

Mahalo to KBR and everyone who joined us!
