Exciting new projects are underway at LĪPOA, including the construction of LĪPOA’s first residential neighborhoods located Makai of Hookena Street down towards Kūlanihāko‘i High School.

Goodfellow Bros. will be constructing the infrastructure improvements in this area, as well as building drainage basins mauka of the residential area to manage stormwater and minimize sediment flowing downhill. These important infrastructure improvements will provide necessary roadway access and utilities (water, sewer, drainage) to the area.

Because of this and for the safety of our trail users, Līpoa Loop Trail will be closed from the end of January for the duration of the construction work, estimated at 15 months.

While we understand that the closure may be disappointing, we are excited to share that once construction is complete, the improvements will also include exciting upgrades to the trail. Some of these improvements will include establishing more formal and paved paths with 8-foot-wide pavement widths in select areas. When completed, these enhancements will be open to public use, providing a more enjoyable and safer experience for everyone.

As construction of our community progresses, we will assess whether portions of our Līpoa Loop Trail can be safely reopened.

In the meantime, please respect the closure and continue to use the existing sidewalks within our community for exercise and enjoyment!

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we improve our Līpoa community, a place to live, work, innovate, and PLAY.

Thank you for your continued support of LĪPOA!
